Praiano Events
The Luminaria di San Domenico is an ancient tradition of the rich historical and cultural heritage of Praiano. It is celebrated from August 1st to 4th every year at the convent of Santa Maria a Castro, where Saint Dominic is venerated; this devotion has been passed down since approximately 1606, following the arrival of the Dominican friars from the Sanità in Naples.
The festival is preceded by a triduum, during which this fascinating and evocative tradition takes place. For a few decades, it had lost part of its charm due to the advent of electricity and the replacement of candles with light bulbs; however, since 2001, it has returned to its ancient splendor. It sees the participation of all citizens who, with unique and enchanting wax illuminations, adorn terraces, windows, gardens, narrow streets, and house domes, while young people from Praiano decorate the floor of Piazza San Gennaro with 2,000 candles every evening.
The Luminaria has a precise meaning: Saint Dominic’s mother, before giving birth, dreamed of a dog with a torch in its mouth that set the world on fire, signifying that the unborn child would spread the Word of God throughout the world.
The Festival della Tradizione di Praiano is an artistic/musical project that has become, over the years, a meeting place for the musical traditions of all Italian regions and beyond.
Over the course of the last fourteen editions, the Festival has hosted numerous musicians from all parts of Italy, representing their respective folkloric areas, cultures, and different styles.
See you at the 2020 edition.

The Amalfi Coast is famous throughout the world for its natural beauty: a nature that still remains wild and unspoiled, despite the myriad of tourists that it is ready to welcome throughout the year. A breathtaking landscape that preserves centuries of art, history and culture to the point that the Amalfi Coast has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
THE PATH OF GODS
Walking in Paradise: its name is not random, the landscape you will enjoy along the way is truly divine, poised between sea and sky. It is the route most loved by tourists. In spring and autumn it is possible to stop and listen to a concert before resuming the walk.
FERRIERE VALLEY
One of the most fascinating trekking routes on the Amalfi Coast is located between Amalfi and Scala, where the Ferriere valley lies, crossed by the Canneto stream. The atmosphere is typical of a canyon, with a particular microclimate that has allowed the conservation of rare vegetation.
